Are RELIGION and SOCIALISM Compatible?



The Victoria Centre, Palk Road, Wellingborough at 7.00pm

Round table discussion / debate.

Speakers confirmed to date include:Dr. Ghayasuddin Siddiqui (Muslim Parliament), Cynthia Bailey (United Reformed Church, Wellingborough), Mike Matthews (a supporter of ISW and a humanist) and Cllr. Shashi Dholakia (speaking from a Hindu perspective).

Other possible contributors from other religious traditions are yet to be confirmed.
This promises to be a lively and interesting discussion/debate. Not to be missed!!!

Note that ISW is an inclusive, non-sectarian, non-party political group (although members of political parties - Labour, Greens, Respect, etc., - are welcome).
Anyone broadly of "socialist"/progressive views, who wants to get involved in politics at a local level, is welcome.

A public meeting is planned for January the 31st at 7.30pm
@ The Victoria Centre on Palk Road, Wellingborough

This will be a Holocaust Memorial Evening entitled:

"Five Steps to Tyranny:
Could you commit genocide?

~ A showing of the acclaimed BBC documentary ~
~ Followed by discussion and debate ~

Tony Clarke (previously Labour MP for Northampton South, who is now an Independent Councillor in Northampton) will be speaking at an Independent Socialists in Wellingborough public meeting on "The truth on why we waged war in Iraq, and why we must find a way out".

The meeting will be held on Thursday November 8th 2007 at 7.30 pm in the Victoria Centre, Palk Road, Wellingborough.
